New car seat regulations have just been announced! The new regulations call for children to stay rear facing until the age of two (used to be 1 year old and 20 lbs). They also have changed the booster regulations to say that kids should be in a booster seat until they are 4'9. We jokingly took a picture of me in Eli's seat because I'm so short I probably should be in a booster! Needless to say, it reminded me to get on the ball and order Eli's new seat! He is going to be riding in style in a Britax Frontier 85 combination seat. It's a seat that should last him until he's reached the limit. It was recomended to me as the best one for boys by the expert at Babies R Us and online it was rated at the top. I'm getting sick of dealing with Cora's infant seat. It's too heavy to keep carrying around. She is graduating up to Eli's Evenflo Triumph Advance convertible carseat. We will follow the new regulations and keep her turned reverse. Eli was miserable when he was reversed and enjoyed car rides so much more turned forward...but Cora is so laid back I don't think it's going to be a huge issue. Plus, she can watch Eli for entertainment and will be able to look out the window in the new seat. We should be switching the kids seats this week when Eli's arrives in the mail! YAY!

Something that REALLY helped with Christopher was a mirror. He has a laid back personality... assuming he can see things. Car rides tend to upset him because he can't look around rear facing. But with the mirror he can see more.He still gets fussy, but it has helped a lot.
